Trip to Chinatown!

Chinese New Year is drawing nearer, so does the stalls at Chinatown too.

No doubt it is crazy to walk along the street under the hot sun, but it wasn't humid at all! Hubby felt that he is in Hong Kong, the breeze with the hot sun is not making him feel irritated.

 It was early noon when they were there, so lot of stalls are not open yet.

The kids have no idea what is going, they only care there are a lot of tibit reaching their mouth soon!

Cait was getting tired, glad that they brought this stroller out!
But, she does not allow Clar to sit at all! Anyway, Clar does not want to sit on it as well. Hoping she will be obedient when they go for Hong Kong trip soon.

Cait's eye brightened up when she saw sweets! She immediately let Clar sit down because she want to select the sweets! Look at her, how focused she was while selecting the sweets!

The Ongies decided to have their reunion dinner at Brinjai Park for curry fish head. So, everyone headed there for a good dinner before going shopping at IMM.

The kids went home after the walk in Chinatown. They were a little cranky because they did not sleep enough during day time. When they saw their granny, they hugged her like a koala bear.

Jiak Tok

This entry is almost forgotten, hence posting it right now. Jiak Tok is one of the common practice for most Chinese, especially to deity or during hungry ghost month. What is the main purpose for it? Basically, raise fund. Currently, the temple The Ongies often go, is still new and undergoing some renovations, that's where the devotees will come and chip in. Back then, Cait was just few months old when she first attend to such occasion. Now, Clar turn. During the period of bidding and consuming of food, both princesses are quite cooperative and did not fuss a lot until later on. Partly due to heat and noise. But it is a good experience for them. Praying to Tai Sui

It's the period of praying to Tai Sui now during Chinese New Year. Almost all Chinese will head up to temple to get blessing from Tai Sui . For those zodiac sign that crash with the year of Tai Sui must pray for smooth year. Every year, there will be 4 zodiac signs that crash with Year of Tai Sui . Chong is worse than Fan.  It is better to pray to Tai Sui every year; at least you get bless. When praying to Tai Sui , you must not forget to return thanks back before end of year; which is before Christmas Day,  after Dong Zhi . Cait and Clar will get bless as well, same goes to rest of the family. The usual place they often went is at Paya Lebar, Gu Cai Ba Temple (Sheng Hong Gong). You can go and pray after registering yourself; pray to the main altar, then to the 60 Tai Sui before queuing up for the toaist priest to chant. It will be a long queue if you go early or noon.
