X'mas celebration
Wifey love gathering and celebration, so she always constantly been thinking what to do during the biog occasion.
As compared to last year celebration in chalet, this year they decided to tone down a little bit. As most of the relatives had just came back from overseas trip, the thought of organising is kept to the minimal.
There is no time to book a chalet or even a BBQ pit for everyone, time is quite tight too.
One day, when hubby and wifey were window shopping in Lot One, they came across the pre order of turkey at NTUC. Wifey wanted the chicken and ham, but hubby requested for turkey instead, because it is a big occasion and they don't get to eat it daily too.
They knew turkey is going to be huge and dry, but hoping everyone will enjoy it later on. The collection date is X'mas Eve.
They suggested to go to hubby grandma house on X'mas eve, but the notification sent to other cousins were a bit too late because they had their own plan already.
When they collected the turkey, they never knew that they had to roast it again! Luckily it was just reheating; it was 6pm when they were about to leave for grandma house. Even after reheating for a while, they can feel the turkey is still cold at the bottom!
Anyway, rushing for time, they placed in a bag and head out immediately to fetch big aunt.
Grandma thought everyone had overslept and won't be coming over; it was not, just that they appeared quite late. This is the first time they went to grandma house at this hour, and stay until very late.
There weren't a lot of people in the house, just a few of them, it is enough to bring a smile on grandma face.
As hubby and wifey were famished, they quickly set off to get dinner for themselves and for mom. The kids will stay put in the house to entertain the rest, quite a good idea huh?
They bought themselves a duck rice, and kway chup, along with turkey meat!
Surprisingly the meat is good and delicious. Even grandma and aunt. who dislike oil and high cholesterol also thumbs up for the meat! Turkey does not have any fats or cholesterol, The Ongies did not put any stuffing in it. They ate it in the simple way.
Cait giving great grandma X'mas present.
A photo shoot with great grandma
The great grandma, grandma, and the kids.
Grand ma was extremely happy that night, this visit is impromptu, there's no plan at all and almost wanted to cancel off due to Clar just discharge from hospital the day before.
A simple visit make her happy and smiley the whole night. She even requested to have more turkey meat for her to eat later, and she misses it a lot.
Good choice for the turkey! Hurray!
On the X'mas day, they wanted something very Chinese.
They had been deciding where to have their dim sum breakfast - Tung Lok, Peony Jade .. etc ..until wifey had this venue in mind!
Pioneer Spring Restaurant , Jurong Point 2
The last time they came to this restaurant was months ago. Back then it was named as Pioneer Wharf. In short, the dim sum is pretty good, quite worth coming here to enjoy if you stay in the west.
If you have recommendation on good dim sum, share it!
The folks and the kids really enjoy the food in the restaurant. Well spent tho.
The Ongies had booked their flight ticket to HongKong next March, and they are looking for a light umbrella stroller to bring it with them. The thought of carrying them is going to kill everyone, so it is better to have the kids rest on the stroller while the adults can continue their journey.
They went to Kiddy Palace and had a good view on the light umbrella stroller, but the cost is quite steep for a short term usage. So wifey intend to find it online - Motherhood forum, Gmarket... etc.. If there's.
As the search is still on, you are welcome to share which stroller is best for overseas trip.
If anyone wanted to let go, please drop The Ongies a message too!
The kids are having fun trying out the strollers!
Something that you should not left out during X'mas day!
A Log Cake!
A X'mas mango log cake by Polar for everyone after a delicious steamboat session.
The taste of this mango log cake is terrific! There's a 15% off for this log cake when they got it from Lot One.
It is a pity that they did not get to walk along the Orchard road this year to enjoy the X'mas light. Hope they can make it these few days.
The only time they can view the X'mas lighting is in the car when hubby drove past twice in separate days - week day and X'mas Eve.
