Clar admitted to hospital as well

Is it because of the Ong family line, most of the kids will be admitted to hospital due to bronchitis. This is what aunt had told both hubby and wifey when they signed up their insurance policy for the girls.

On 22nd Jun, Cait was admitted to Mt A due to high fever and diarrhea.

On 22nd, also on Saturday, Clar admitted to KKH due to her cough and bad diaper rash. Coincidentally, both of them were admitted in the early morning. As Cait is older, she can expressed by telling them her discomfort, but for Clar, she can only cry and screamed, a lot of patience is needed.

Thanks goodness there are not a lot of patients around, so the queue is a lot faster. After the doc had examined Clar, they were told to let her go for an X-ray and puffing. This is to check whether it is pneumonia or bronchitis that caused her to cough non stop.

The nurse at triage had measured Clar having low O2 at 94, which the moderated level should be 95 and above.

During the X-ray, hubby was accompanying her in the room, where Clar require to sit up straight, so that they can take a photo of her lung.

After the x-ray, withing a few min, the doc came and told them that it is just cloudy, which she require to puff to open up her air way. Negative on pneumonia, thanks goodness.

Wifey was told to sit down with Clar, so that the nurse can help by letting Clar puff in the gas - some sorta nebulizer.

The whole cycle of 4 require her to breathe in 6 times of 1 cycle before they can change another gas bottle. So in total, she required to breathe in 48 times due to her low O2.

She was fine initially until she felt that she did not like it a lot. There go her crying and screaming.

The nurses were very patient with Clar and try to go with the flow if they can, but it is not easy at all. Everyone had to put in a lot of effort to hoax her, but failed.

It is not just Clar that hate that tube, every kids who came into that room will shout and scream non stop when it is covering their mouth. She is not the loudest, but the strongest. She required 4 adult - hubby, wifey and 2 nurses to pin her down when she refused to take in the gas after 30min - total 4 times.

Nurse 1 sat down and crossed her leg to lock Clar's leg, while hugging from the back to lock her arms.
Hubby and wifey both hold onto Clar's hand.
Nurse 2 pumped the gas to let her breathe.

The nurses admitted that Clar is very strong, it is not easy to pin her down.

Clar seem to surrender at her final puffing session when wifey constantly massaging her nose bridge to forehead.

When the doc came in and see Clar again, he recommended her to admit due to her low O2 and it is pretty heavy dosage for her to take 4 puffing session in 2hrs.

Clar was very tired and cranky because she wanted to sleep and eat. When her meal came, she had 3/4 of the porridge taken!

Another Doc Anne came by to visit Clar while checking her record. Dr Anne determined that Clar was not dehydrated because there's tears in her eyes.

She also told wifey that Clar require to puff every 2hrs until night time at 8.30pm, it will be every 3hrly.

Clar O2 seem to to go up, but very slow.

Wifey also told the doctor about the fungus in her mouth, and the bad diaper rashes too.

After examining, the doc told wifey that Clar red rashes is not caused by bad baby diaper; it is caused by the white fungus in her mouth which she swallow it, then pass on to her urine.

Clar seem to know that she had to take the puffing when the nurses appeared in front of her. She kinda give up and surrender when wifey hug her from the back - little resistance is good!

While Clar was in hospital, Cait have to follow her grand mother to work for a while because no one is able to look after her. When hubby and wifey had settled down with Clar, he rushed down to bring Cait home to take a nap before heading to hospital again.

Cait was quite well behaved and cooperative until nap time. She know something is not right because both wifey and Clar are not at home, hence the whining session began.

Hubby finally gave up and decided to bring Cait out to hospital. When hubby's dad came home from work, he told him that he wanted to go as well, at the same time, mom was on her way to KKH.

When everyone arrived to the ward, Clar jumped up with joy. She does not seem to be sick nor having any breathless symptom; perfectly fine... indeed.

Mom told both hubby and wifey to go for their dinner first, while they can stay put to look after the two monsters. Hence, a quick dinner at Mac, and bought food for the folks.

Clar wanted to move around the area when she saw the presents, attempting to take it with her! Wifey told hubby that Clar was going around making friends with the nurses.

It was 2030hrs and Clar had to take her puffing already. The little girl did not struggled like before, just whining non stop and screaming. Seem like she is getting tired and used up most of her energy.

After her puffing session, everyone left while wifey stay overnight with her. Hubby was told that Clar did not sleep well and she wanted to play after her puffing at 0130hrs! As to let the other kids in the ward for rest, wifey decided to bring Clar down for a walk, and the time was 2am!

On the next day morning, hubby, dad and Cait came over to visit Clar again. They thought that she is going to discharge at 11am, but the doctor said that she required to monitor Clar until 4pm first. This is because they wanted Clar to be fed on medicine instead of puffing, if the O2 of her maintain well, she is good to go at 5pm.

FYI, discharge at KKH is either 11am or 5pm. But, 2nd day of stay in hospital will be imposed if you discharge at 5pm; as told, it will be a full day charge rather than half.

Resident doctor came over at 3pm and checked on Clar and the result is good! She obliged what the doctor wanted her to do, she even pushed hubby away!

Anyway, Clar finally can go home, she really need a good rest from the stay in hospital.
