We are The Ongies

There's some virus attacking on the family recently. Wifey and Cait were the first to get infected due to indigestion and wind in stomach, as well as vomiting. Both of them were very pale when hubby sent them to clinic.  Unfortunately, there are too many people (around 10 over people!), so they decided to go to another clinic which have lesser crowds. Cait had pill injected into her buttock, while wifey had an injection.  Just when both of them are recovering, something had happened to dad. Hubby's dad is resting at home for 2 weeks due to cataract operation on both of his eyes. He is to banned from doing housework and carry heavy things. 2 days ago, while he was sitting down, looking at his mobile, he felt something unusual. He kept calling for someone, but no one know what is going on. Mom was asleep with Cait, while wifey was working in the room even though she is on MC as well.  She heard dad calling but thought it was Cait.  Just when ...

When Cait went back to school on Tuesday, the Ongies were surprised that her friend, HY, also came back after a week rest at home. After communicating to HYmother, all the kids the class had the same symtpom which doctor find it hard to locate the exact virus. Up and down high fever, coughing and vomitting. It is a mysterious virus that only their class got it, the other kids from other class were not affected at all. No one can explain, even with the principal. But at least, all of the kids had since returned to school healthily, jumping and running around, more hyper than before. Hoping the mysterious virus go far far away from the poor children.

Let's go back to the day before Cait fell sick, a post where hubby have no time to update until now. Last 2 weeks ago on Friday, it was Father's day celebration at MFS2. Daddies are allowed to participate in the games with their kids. They were allow to choose which games they want to if their children are in different age group. Since Cait was not feeling well, hubby will have to join Clar's game. This is also the first time hubby saw quite a number of daddies appearing in the school, which is quite unusual. But, all the daddies did enjoy the games with their little ones. Even though most of the daddies did not come along, the kids will have their fun on their own instead! Let's get ready with the games now! The kids were very excited, screaming, shouting, laughing and running around. The gung-ho Clar seem a bit timid on that day. Cait is not fully discharged yet, she is just taking home leave from hospital. If from morning till tomorrow, there's no sign of fever at every 4hrly, she can be discharge by doctor recommendation. She will have to take the antibiotic via spoon if her fever subside, if not, she may have to take it either by injection or put on drip. When she heard that she is going home, everyone mood lightened up. Her appetitie is very good as compared since on Monday night. She sing, dance, talk and debates... That is Caitlyne style. Nothing beats the word: Going Home. She feel into deep sleep when she was in car, and home. A place she felt secured. Even while she is in hospital recovering, there's not much of resting time after all. She have to take the neubuliser every 4 hours, noise from other beds too. Goodness, she is able to take in the neubuliser while half asleep, provided her ear is covered by the sound. Wifey is so tired taking care of Cait, from morning till night. So...

Thanks all dear friends, family and relatives who are very concern on Cait recently. She is still having slight fever, and required to have clearance of 24hrs before she can discharge tomorrow . She was still having slight cold internally, and manage to sweat in the middle of the night, despite being in the air con room. Her appetite is getting better, though not a lot. The doctor mentioned that Cait is a lucky girl, she had porridge with salt to build up her body system despite being dehydrated. It will be worse on her kidney or liver if there's little salt. They had tested with all the result from her blood, phlegm and vomit. So far all negative, which is a good news. The Ongies are very blessed to have such a warmth hearted friends around and shown their love as well. Thank you so much. Just few hours ago, Cait was admitted to NUH due to high fever when it reached 40 degree. She was awarded for 2 days. But hubby was hoping she will recover soon and cleared by doctor in the morning later on. Loss of appetite, dehydrating and feeling uncomfortable. She had to put on drip as patches of red circle were seen on her arm and legs. Being very brave of her, she managed to let the doctor inject the needle. She did not cry, brave and strong girl. When it come to medicine, she was very cranky as usual. In an hr or less on drip, hubby noticed that the red circl patches were gone. Blood sample had been sent for lab test. It is thankfully that she did not suffer from dengue, just a virus - bronchitis. As told by the doctor, such virus cannot be treated, only time will helps. Let's hope Cait will get better and well soon. She is currently with wifey in NUH. Cait fallen asleep soon after the entire doctors had finished talking to hubby and wifey. Updates on...

The weekend was hilarious. Both girls seem to have taken some sorta hyper medicine. They were noisy and been very playful all day round. Doctor Visit Before weekend, hubby had to bring Clar to see doctor at ProHealth clinic at Bukit Panjang due to her cough. As the heavy vehicle carpark is right behind the clinic, hubby had to take a risk by parking there - hoping there's no summon. Cait had to follow as well because she said she was coughing too . Handling both of them is not easy, but glad that they are cooperative throughout the waiting time. Much as hubby disallow them to sit on the kiddy ride initially, he had to give in because it is impossible to look at both of them. There's no seat to sit down and there are too many people walking around in the morning. Luckily, hubby had the coins, and that means... alright then.. kiddy ride time. Was it like a virus flying all around? Let's hope not tho. After Clar had recovered, now it is Cait's turn. Fortunate enough, this is nothing serious. She was complaining of stomach pain 2 days back after she got home. As claimed, she had drank the plain water from her bottle, which is cold due to weather. Soon after she was experiencing some stomach discomfort. She was told to eat more hot stuff, but she kept on rejecting. In the end, she did not eat a lot of food during her dinner, and at night, wifey and hubby quickly brought her to see doctor. After the examination, Cait did have stomach wind. So that explain why she was feeling painful and discomfort. She had to stop consuming any lactose food, because that will worsen the condition. Apparently, hubby had this umpteen times when he was young. Everyone thought that Cait will recovered by night time (yesterday) . But again, she was tossing and turning; she just cannot get to sleep no matter what. Without seco...

Clar had been sick since Friday, having high fever and loss of appetite. The initial thought was: Hand Food Mouth Disease. They also worried that Cait had gotten it too, because she had an ulcer near her throat. She gurgle with salt water  at night; next day she is feeling a lot better despite the small amount of pain. Hubby felt that both girl might have heaty body; ate a lot of junk heaty food recently. On Sunday night, they decided to bring Clar to KKH because they found some red dots in her mouth. But there are too many people in the hospital, approximately waiting time is estimated 2hr, and that is just the first part. Without hesitation, they head for Mount A instead. There are fewer people as compared to KKH. Speed was a lot faster. Doctor examined Clar and confirmed that she gotten it as viral fever, and not HFMD. So he suggested for blood and urine test. Ever since Cait gotten cough from school, the virus had been floating around the house which led to grand ma, hubby and wifey falling sick. Just when everyone was about to recover, Clar had been infected as well. She had been coughing and feeling feverish for 2 weeks, but it is purely on and off situation. But, yesterday, they decided to bring Clar to KKH despite visiting to the GP for 2 times. It was 9.30pm when they reached KKH and queue was very long. At the same time, they also saw met their friend! It was so coincidence throughout the procedure. They end up picking up the medicine at the same time too! After the initial check up by the nurse, they had been to told to go to room 11. As they heard some sound from Clar when she breathe, they decided to ask her to go for X-Ray and do the blood test. It had been a tough week. Now, after Cait fallen sick, comes hubby, Clar, grand mom and then wifey. Let's hope everyone get well soon and say.. go away, virus! Clar vomited a lot last night, but they were glad that most of the phelgm is out. On the other hand for Cait, it is the same for her too. As she did not control her mouth itchness on dessert, she vomited for the past 3 days. Hubby is making sure Cait will not over eat the dessert which will cause her to feel even worse after consuming it. Right now, she is making a lot of improvement. Today, wifey taught Cait to sound out when she want to pass urine or poo poo, because she did not wear any disaper at all. Surprisingly, she did what wifey had mentioned. Even for lunch time, she also fed herself without other people help! Clar, had been very naughty. She kept on clinging onto hubby for carrying! End up, she had been punished by him. It had been a tough week for everyone; hoping the laze weekend will come soon. Cait and Clar had been very good and naughty at the same time. While Cait often got beaten up by parents because of bullying Clar; at the same time, Clar also deserve it. If only both of them can sit down quietly. But been too quiet can be scary too. Just like yesterday, perhaps Cait was still feeling sleepy after her nap; she tend to be very naughty. She went to bite Clar finger hardly until Cait had been reprimanded and punished severely. Other than that, things are fine. Today (Sunday), hubby took Clar out alone for the very first time, while letting the rest of the family members rest at home when Cait is still sleeping. To make things fair, hubby also brought Cait out to play at the playground. She was getting more and more tired while on the way back home. Amazingly, hubby spent 2hrs plus with Cait alone in IMM. But things did not goes well; ... hubby need to use the toilet urgently. ( up to...

Every night Clar tuck in soundly and she is able to sleep on her own through the whole night, without feeling any fear. Recently, it seem that Clar is getting more and more insecure. She will make sure that any of her body part must be connected to wifey. E.g. her feet or palm must be  touching her mom, despite in the awkward position. 1-2 weeks back, she preferred to sleep facing down on wifey chest, so that she feel the security around her. She will start to cry if been put down on bed, even though it is just beside. Having cuddling is no use as well.  Just like last night, she will wake up every hour because she did not feel secure. One day, when hubby entered the room while talking to Clar, who is lying on the bed looking at the ceiling, she startled and trembled for a while until getting rest assured of it. The second time is when Clar was beside hubby; he was playing his iphone and Clar was on her own until wifey came in and talk to him, and she got startled ag...

Today, Cait have to go to hospital because everyone is very worried about her; especially the diarrhea. Hence, hubby had to rush home and send her to KKH immediately, it is lucky that wifey is working from home, so there's help too. Cait seem pretty ok initially when hubby got home. Nevertheless, they still send her to KKH. All the wait took about less than 2hrs, partly they went out for small bites and also, it is daytime. As compared to the night, wait will be extremely long even though there are lesser patients. They made quite a boo-boo there; forgotten to pay the money at reception counter! It did not take too long to wait after they had settled the bill. A female doctor was checking at Cait and ask a lot of question about her. Knowing all the symptoms, she wanted Cait to lie down, so she can check her nose. To her surprise, there's swollen/infection at Cait nostril. That will make Cait feeling irritated and cough badly till she vomit. So, she had been given qu...

Photo taken last week Cait is back to school, but she whine continuously until her favourite teacher appear in front of her. She had missed the school for 2 days last week because of her fever. But at least she seem active at home despite having that, but at same time, she felt painful and scare due to the growing of molar in her mouth. Cait had been given the medicine and she is brave enough to swallow the bitterly taste. Everyone applause when she had it finished. But on one condition, she must have either the sweet or ice cream to musk over the bitterly smell. On the other hand, wifey wanted to check on Cait molar and had her finger in. Out of sudden, the latter bite wifey's finger so hard that she was sobbing badly. The area that Cait bite is at the side of the finger tip! Swollen and in red. But look like Cait seem to know what is going on and started to sayang her mummy! Although Cait is playful, do not want to greet mummy or ma ma , but she really did it yest...

Cait is down again with the temperature hitting 38degree last night. Was it due to her teething that caused the fever? It could be; molar can be seem when wifey checked. But not only fever did not subside, she also feel like vomiting which result the pain in her throat. This is partly due to infection and forcing it to vomit that hurt it badly. It is as if there's a lump when swallowing her saliva. She felt scared. Kept wanting to be hugged and needed lots of concern from everyone. To think, she can even reject sweet, as hubby told her not to eat it anymore. But mom said it the other way! But Cait understand well and did not tempt herself towards the sweet. It is 2am, and hubby is in deep sleep without knowing what is going on until 4am. At that time, both wifey and mom got up and attend to Cait since then. She was awake, and wanted to watch TV and play. Look into her eyes, you know she is feeling scare. Mom and wifey urged hubby to go sleep as he need to work later on....

Food at Jurong East is great and Cait was happy to go out that day! They had breakfast cum lunch together on that day. The day is pretty hot and it is not easy to handle Cait at the back when they are finishing the food. Overall, she did behave very well except for fighting the stroller against with her mei mei. Waiting for food Cait is shy, thus covered herself with the stroller cover. Cait is covered while the small one is being fed and no where to rest. Looking below and search for something.
